Tata Zest – Everything You Want to Know about Tata Zest in a Nutshell
Tata Motors, a division of one of the oldest and most respected business houses of India, Tata Group, is one of the premier automobile manufacturers in India. The Tata cars are known less for their design and luxury, and more for their utility and dependability. Although these cars are great performers, they lack inspiring looks and appealing designs.
However, a few months ago, Tata brought in a fresh whiff of life into their cars when it introduced the Tata Zest Sedan. This car looked entirely different from the boring cars that Tata used to offer. Zest is a trendsetter in the sense that this compact sedan became the first car from the maker to offer a contemporary design language and fresh looks. It made the industry sit up and notice the car.
Tata Zest is priced between 4.86 and 8.07 lakh rupees, making it an affordable car. It comes with spacious interiors and pleasing features, attracting the interest of the car buyers like never before. The buyers have wholeheartedly welcomed it, and hence, it has already become a best seller for Tata.
The most appealing features of the Zest include attractive exteriors, feature-loaded interiors and affordability. Despite being the most affordable car in the segment, there has been no compromise on the quality of equipments or other comforts.
Tata Zest is available in both petrol and diesel engines. There are nine variants to choose from. Four of them are in petrol and five in diesel, including an AMT version. The petrol variant is powered by an locally developed all-new Revotron 1.2T engine. A very silent unit, it is India’s first turbocharged MPFi (Multi-point Fuel Injection) engine. It is an 1193 cc, four-cylinder BSIV compliant unit, capable of generating a top power of 88.7 bhp and a peak torque of 140 Nm. It is mated to a five-speed manual transmission gearbox.
The diesel variant of the Zest runs on the reliable Fiat 1.3 MJD engine. It is available in two power options. A low powered engine of 73.9 bhp and 190 Nm torque powers the base model. An 88.7 bhp motor with a torque of 200 Nm powers the higher variants. All diesel variants, except the AMT variant, come with a traditional five-speed transmission gearbox.
The Zest offers thirty best in class features. It has the most spacious interiors in the segment. Zest is the first car from Tata to be manufactured in accordance with the latest DesigNext, DriveNext, and ConnectNext philosophy of the company.
Tata Zest has had a debut worthy of its standing. Surely, it will prove to be a worthy rival to the likes of Honda Amaze and Maruti Swift DZire in the days to come.
